Answer

Mr. Barry Jones: To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make available top-up payments to producers of clean beef carcases under 30 months of age; and if he will make a statement.[38091] Mr. Jonathan Evans: Top-up payments of £23.13 and £19.70 per animal under the suckler cow and beef special premium schemes respectively will be made this summer. In addition a further £29 million is being made available to help beef producers and we are considering in consultation with the Welsh farming unions how to put this to best use.
