Question

To ask Her Majesty's Government further to the Written Answer by Baroness Thornton on 1 December (WA 21), which professional bodies have issued advice recommending that the production of 44 eggs following superovulation is appropriate when associated with the pursuit of material for research.

Answer

The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority has advised that it is not aware that any guidelines have been published specifically recommending the collection of 44 eggs. The content of any professional guidance is a matter for the professional bodies themselves.
