Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what estimate his Department has made of the percentage of dairy cows which are kept in zero-grazing conditions.

Answer

No official estimates are available, though previous industry estimates indicate about 5 per cent. of herds have some cattle that are housed all year round.
