Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment in Development

Motion, That the Committee takes note of European Union Document No. 17432/13, Commission Staff Working Paper: 2013 Report on the Implementation of the EU Plan of Action on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment in Development 2010-2015; welcomes the document as a frank assessment of the EU's implementation of its Action Plan; and supports the Government's efforts in encouraging the European Commission to address the weaknesses identified in the Report in order to ensure further integration of gender equality in EU development assistance.
