That this House notes with deep concern the particular problems which are currently being faced by farmers in less favoured areas; urges the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to look urgently at the possibility of bringing forward the dates upon which premium payments to such farmers are to made; and believes that the green pound devaluation for sheep meat should be brought forward from 7th January 1991 to May 1990 as for other commodities.

Leave out from 'notes' to end and add 'with satisfaction that the suckler cow premium has been increased for producers in less favoured areas to the maximum possible and that this will be worth about ??8 million to the industry as a whole and that the advance payments under the sheep annual premium scheme amounting in total to ??4.85 per eligible ewe have been agreed.'.
