BST AND THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT

Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Elliot Morley (Labour), on Tuesday, 20 December 1994, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 51 members in total.
That this House welcomes the decision of the Council of Agriculture Ministers to continue the moratorium on the use of bovine somatotropin, which has been shown to increase the incidence of painful mastitis in treated dairy cows and may cause a range of other adverse effects on cow health; further notes that the British Government voted against the moratorium; and is dismayed at the Government's complete lack of regard for the welfare of farm animals.
